Lightning has the potential to seriously injure or kill people on-board vessels. This course provides the knowledge to:

• Understand the legal issues surrounding lightning
• How lightning is propagated
• How an electric shock is received
• The stats and risk ratios associated with lightning and at risk locations and activities
• The effects on people and what treatments might be needed including first aid
• General control measures to reduce the risks
• Issues specific to those on board vessels including how to manage the lightning risk and keep people onboard alive.

This situation could become tragic if storms develop

This course takes approximately 2 hours to complete. Additionally, completion of this course provides 2 hours for your Energy Safe Victoria CPD Skills Development requirements.

You have 30 days to complete this course once enrolled but this can be extended.
