Test RCDs - FREE(PL1)This brief FREE course trains participants to test Residual Current Devices (RCDs) to meet Australian Standard’s requirements and is aligned with the 2018 version of the Wiring Rules. The course content includes types of available testers, available tests, required tests and expected test results. It also has a practical example where a RCD included in a portable socket outlet board is run through a full range of tests using a Fluke 1652C tester. This is a MUST for all electrical workers to refresh and/or update their knowledge on testing RCDs. It is FREE and provides an opportunity to trial our Training Centre before buying a course. It is also provides an opportunity to see a demonstration of the Fluke 1652C before purchasing. You must attain at least 80% in the assessment to pass the course. Electrician Refresher Course - PART A()Continuing professional development is a must for all electricians as the industry is in a constant state of change and development. Standards essential for this course are AS/NZS3000 and either AS/NZS3008.1.1 or AS/NZS3008.1.2 depending on whether you are in Australia or NZ. Electrical Apprentice Aptitude Tests()Around one third of electrical apprentices fail to complete their apprenticeship which is costing the industry greatly through wasted investment and lost opportunities. These aptitude tests will help to improve this poor completion rate and ensure the right apprentices get hired. It will take each candidate approximately 1.25 hour to complete the tests as they are time limited. Electrical Incident Report Writing()This course follows on from our Electric Shock Investigation Course and pulls all the information from that course into a final report (as an assignment). The incident to be reported involves the electrocution of an electrical worker in an industrial type situation. This course takes approx. 2 days to complete, depending on the trainee’s level of skill in report writing (possibly two days for the untrained report writer). Lightning - Sporting Body Awareness and Management()Lightning – Sporting Body Awareness and Management Lightning has the potential to seriously injure or kill players, officials and/or spectators. This course provides the knowledge to: 1. Understand the legal issues surrounding lightning 2. How lightning is propagated 3. How an electric shock is received 4. The stats and risk ratios associated with lightning and at risk locations and activities 5. The effects on people and what treatments might be needed including first aid 6. General control measures to reduce the risks 7. Issues for sporting bodies including how to manage the lightning risk. Lightning - Protection System Design, Installation & Maintenance()This training course takes the trainee from risk assessing a structure to determine if a lightning protection system (LPS) is needed through to designing the LPS, to installation, including earthing and bonding and surge protection, and on to maintenance once the LPS has been installed for a period. Trainees must complete one of our four lightning awareness courses to be able to enrol in this course and you must have your own copy of AS 1768:2021 and its associated Excel Spreadsheet (comes with the standard). Lightning - Vessel Protection Design and Maintenance()The course will provide trainees with the basic skills and knowledge to design a Lightning Protection System (LPS) to be retrofitted to an existing vessel or to be incorporated in the design of a new vessel.
